Chinese stocks opened lower on Wednesday, following a slide on Wall Street overnight.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index went down 0.83 percent to open at 2,286.72 and the Shenzhen Component Index opened 1.15 percent lower at 9,683.11.
Wall Street shares sank for the fifth straight day, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended down 1.65 percent to 12,715.93 in its latest trading.
